Description

An incunabula leaf from the Postilla Super Psalterium, which was a commentary on the Psalms written by Cardinal Hugh, of Saint-Cher ca. 1200-1263 also known as Hugo de Sancto Caro. Hugo was best known for dividing the scriptures into chapters in 1250 C.E. The famous Anton Koburger printed it on January 31 1498 in Nuremberg. The folio leaf measures 322 x 220 mm in totality and contains 72 lines of unadorned gothic type (14:130G, 15:91G, 19:71G) printed double column in Latin. The Verso: has the same amount of lines columns and type. This leaf has damp staining on the right side of the leaf.
