Description:

A Leaf from a medieval manuscript Bible: Paris, France, mid 13th century, In Latin, On Vellum, (197x134mm.). There are fifty-five lines of double column text in microscopic-miniscule Gothic script. Book headings, chapter numbers, one two line initial "M" in embossed gold on a ground of blue and pink.; one historiated initial "O"; in blue and white inks on a rectangular ground in filled with embossed gold and Zachariah with an angle, as well as lovely contemporary annotations of the monks. Zacharias [Zachariah] Chapters 13-14 and Malchias [Malachi] Chapters 1-2: "A distinction of clean and unclean animals."; (Doway-Rheims) Verso: there are fifty-five lines of double column text in microscopic-miniscule Gothic script with one initial "O"; in pink and white inks in filled with a geometric design and embossed gold. Bible leaves have become rare. Condition is fine [F].
