Description:

A leaf that is from a medieval manuscript Book of Hours, France, Paris, Use of Paris, circa 1390, in Latin and on Vellum (147x109mm). Twelve lines written in brown ink in a Gothic script (written space 80 x 54 mm.) between thirteen horizontals and two verticals ruled in red with one two-line initial "M" in multiple colored inks on a rectangular embossed gold ground with vines emanating from the base creating a panel on the outer side beginning Psalm 50 of the Seven Penitential Psalms. "Miserere mei Deus: secundum magnam misericordiam tuam. Et secundum multitudinem miserationum tuarum: dele iniquitatem meam". "Have mercy on me O God: according to thy great mercy. And according to the multitude of thy tender mercies: blot out my iniquity". Minor one line initials are in embossed gold on alternating red and blue grounds with rubrics in red. Verso: Twelve lines written in brown ink in a Gothic script between thirteen horizontals and two verticals ruled in red with four minor initials in embossed gold on alternating red and blue grounds. Two of these initials have vines directed towards the margin. Condition of this leaf is fine [F].
