Description

Kent Singlewell- Reign of Henry VI. This two part document is a Medieval Deed of Gift, dated February 7th, 1440. In it William Rickhill, Gentleman, John Philyp and William Penerick, clerks, convey unto John Crower and William Crower of Ifelde, all the tenement with the garden adjacent, witnesses names including John Craft, Thomas Barr, Gilbert Wyngold and John Caye. The parchment title deed measures 170 x 250 mm. and contains sixteen-lines of gothic cursive script, single column, in Latin, two (of three) seal tags are present, both with seals, the first of a thistle or plant and the second depicting a rabbit along with accompanying translation letter.
