Artist Biography:

Edward Joseph Lowe, Esq.[1825-1900] was born in Nottingham, England. During his fifty years of crossing and cultivating ferns he published six major books and articles for other periodicals. His knowledge of crossing ferns is portrayed in his eight volumes "Ferns: British and Exotic" 1855 - 1860. He died in 1900 at Shireneton.
