Alexandre Vuillemin [1812-1880?] was a French cartographer and a book editor living in Paris, France. He had a very productive cartographic career; however, there is not much of Vuillemin's life that is known. Vuillemin studied under the prominent French Auguste Henri Dufour [1798-1865].

Margin illustrations lavish and of excellent quality showing local heroes, products, landscapes, dress, and coat of arms. Forests shown by stippling. District boundaries, roads, canals, towns and cities shown. Color along boundaries. Rivers shown. Text shows local statistics, map legend, and discusses land, curiosities, personages, products, and commerce. Steel engraving. Yonne is the French department; it is in the region of Burgundy and is named after the river Yonne. The department was formed in the French Revolution at the 4th March 1790 in application of the law of the 22nd December 1789.
