Description

This is a leaf of incunabula from the Margarita Poetica by Albertus de Eyre. Which was a popular manual of classical rhetoric by its three distinct focuses: letter-writing, model orations and florilegia (compilation of excerpts). Albrecht von Eyb, was one of the earliest German Humanists. He wrote The Margarita poetica in honor of his mother, Margarete von Wolmershausen. It was printed in Strassburg by Georg Husner, not after 1479. The folio size leaf measures 275 x 210 mm. in totality and contains 44-lines of gothic type printed double column in Latin. The Verso: contains the same lines, type & layout.
