Description

Berkshire Reign of James II.-This is a very early vellum indentures dated 1685 relating to the Manor of Maiden Earley by the 7th Earl of Huntingdon. This document is a recovery for the Manor. Included in the documents are details of various fields and areas of land on the Manor, which is now part of the suburbs of Reading. This is a multiple sheet document consisting of three pages measuring 570 x 675 mm. in totality. The first page contains 20 lines, the second page contains 52-lines, the third and beginning page contains 55 lines and large fancy vignette. All pages contain red borders and original pricking. Four intact red wax seals hang from original tags on the bottom.
