Description

A printed leaf on hand made watermarked paper from an Ecclesiastical Benedictional, in Latin, with stenciled four lines to the stave and notes reflecting Gorgerin chant, the borders are hand drawn in black (195 x 150 mm.). This tome was printed by N Konstanz for the dioceses of Constantinople in 1597. There are five staves consisting of four lines each in red with musical notations in black ink. Headings and capitals are woodblocks. This particular leaf contains the Second Response for the Mass that is celebrated on Ash Wednesday. Verso: three staves consisting of five lines each in red with musical notations in black ink.
