This double-page map presents the State of Dakota with lithographic colour differentiating the various geographical regions within. Featured bodies of water include "Big Cheyenne River" and "Missouri River." Longitudinal and Latitudinal lines are clearly marked on each map with "Longitude West from Greenwich" at the top and "Longitude West from Washington" at the bottom. "Northwest Territory" indicated at the top left corner. Map is in English. No compass rose is provided. Map orientation indicates left border facing North. Distance Scale found in lower left corner. Major cities, towns, rivers and geographic terrain are identified. Details of "Dakota" are found on the verso on pages 623 and 626.
