This is a leaf from a Dala'il al-Khayrat, created in 1778, consisting of nine lines of Aravic Nastal'iq script in a strong hand, with Persian translation in red between the lines. The paper is of fine linen and is gold sprinkled on the script. The holy name of Allah is in red. Gold rosettes end the verse. Sura headings are in gold with white ink. Verso: nine lines of Aravic Nastal'iq script. The Dala'il al-Khayrat is one of the most popular devotional prayer books of Islam. It was composed by Muhammad ibn Sulayman al-Jazuli. Most of these popular books are greatly used by the faithful. This copy was no exception and parts were damaged beyond repair. Nevertheless it was originally of fine quality and may well have belonged to a noble family. Condition of this leaf is just under fine [F-] due to devotional use.
