Artist Biography:

Samuel Buck [1696 - 1779] - View of Ruins of Castles & Abbeys in England produced with his brother Nathaniel, originally sold in sets of twenty-four each by Robert Sayer of London. It took the Buck brothers thirty years to complete. These engravings are a visual record of ancient monuments in England and Wales. "Buck’s Views" as they were known became a repository of over four hundred engravings of local buildings which concentrates on the counties of Derbyshire, Warwickshire, Shropshire, Staffordshire, Worcestershire and Herefordshire..
